Cold Laser Therapy

Cold Laser Therapy is a non-invasive, treatment technique used to HELP REDUCE PAIN AND INFLAMMATION.  Cold Laser Therapy can be used as an adjunct therapy or a primary form of treatment for many different kinds of painful conditions.  This pain relief treatment is FDA CLEARED and enables patients to have AN ALTERNATIVE TO DRUGS AND SURGERY.

Cold Laser Therapy treatments usually lasts between 5 and 10 minutes, depending on the condition being treated.  Treatments must be administered directly to the skin, as laser light cannot penetrate through layers of clothing.  This completely painless, advanced form of treatment utilizes infrared light to interact with the underlying damaged, injured or inflamed tissue and accelerate the healing process.  By definition, cold laser therapy induces only minimal temperature elevation (not more than 0.1 to 0.5 degrees Celsius), if any. Cold Laser Therapy is a SAFE AND EFFECTIVE way to produce pain relief and reduce inflammation in the following COMMON CONDITIONS:

  • Acute and chronic pain
  • Ligament sprains
  • Muscle strain
  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Tendonitis
  • Arthritis
  • Tennis elbow
  • Back pain
  • Bursitis
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Wound healing
  • Peripheral Neuropathy
  • Bruising

Most patients see results within 3 to 5 short treatment sessions.  Cold lasers are handheld or hands-free devices used by Dr. Crews and are typically the size of a flashlight. The laser is placed directly over the injured area, depending on the size of the area being treated.  During the process, the cold laser light interacts with the tissues and creates modulated cellular activity, enhancing your body's own ability to heal.

Cold laser therapy is one option among a variety of treatment approaches that can potentially alleviate pain symptoms without the use of surgery or drugs. At Crews Chiropractic, Dr. Crews uses the Microlight ML830 Smart Laser. This safe, highly-effective, advanced IIIb laser operates at the optimum frequency of 830 nm, for the best and most readily accepted treatment for painful symptoms.
